Lifting some boulders on a sand floor got me access to a key chest, which had two boulders to the left of it with nothing under them. I have a question, why would the level designers put two boulders that take a while to lift up in the level if you don’t achieve anything from lifting them? Then I exited the dungeon and went north to a cave with the second section of the dungeon, just like in the original. After that, there were two chests that I couldn’t open because I didn’t have the Titan’s Mitts yet. First you fuse with the shield to get behind him a few times to attack him.

AlttP never forced me to settle for inferior potions only restoring 8 hearts. It rewarded me for my skill at the game from getting so many Rupees by letting me buy the best potions whenever I wanted. I would’ve had 4 bottles by this point, instead of 3. Even in Zelda 1, right from the very beginning, fairies healed you better than that, and in Zelda 2, they restored all your health.

This is due to the fact that that these two sprites share the same logic, except for the subroutines called to render them to the screen. The duck has an additional frame of flying animation that is only used in the GBA version. While the latter sprite is used, it only appears extremely briefly after Link lands from a flight. The Skull Woods dungeon tileset contains an unused large skull statue object. This can be seen in a tile viewer, but it’s also possible to cause the game to load them into other dungeons via glitching.

This cooperative mode lets two to four players team up to solve puzzles and defeat baddies in dungeons. The boss of this dungeon, like the rest of the dungeon, requires the bombs to beat. You know, you’d expect a whole dungeon based around using bombs to be a lot earlier in the game since the bombs are such a basic Zelda item. I still love the idea of taking advantage of them so much for various puzzles, but the darkness/glowing floors and walls gimmick and the bombs don’t have anything to do with each other. It’s like they decided the dungeon’s whole gimmick wasn’t enough and they made it about bombs instead halfway through.

It was probably just because the chest was too close to the edge I was facing. They should’ve moved that chest to the left a little. The Swamp of Evil in this game has a lot less to do and is thus a lot less interesting than in AlttP. What’s the point of including Like Likes if they’re so rare anyways? Minish Cap let you throw a boomerang at the Rupee stalk to stun them from the ground, now you have to walk really close to the Like Like to activate it. It was only obvious to me that a Like Like was there because I played Minish Cap, where it would pull that “ big money in the middle of small money “ trick all the time.
Zelda3 PuzzleDude’s Quest
Ugh, I just ran a seed where fire rod was in Turtle Rock. There’s only 1 chest you can get in Turtle Rock without fire rod. Most likely the last one you check in that case would be Game Boy Advance Eastern; because going to Eastern with no items at all sucks. I guess it’s been a while (highschool?) since I played through this, but it seems like you could have a lock, where you need A to get B and you need B to get A. I had a fairly interesting seed which took me about 1 hour 40 minutes. Got pretty lucky at the end though – had 18/20 and two chests back to back gave me the last pieces I need, otherwise I would have had to go somewhere somewhat slower to get chests.
